To exchange information and ideas,
implement and innovate policies and programs for the benefit of the children
in Schools of District 21 as a whole.
Offer aid and support to individual schools in finding solutions to their
problems, develop parent leadership and build capacity for greater
involvement.
Ensure that the parent's right of constitution is exercised re: Community
District Education Council and the Community Superintendent, in matters
concerning either an individual school or the Council as a whole.
Cooperate and establish liaison with Civic
organizations to achieve common objectives.

Notice of Public Hearing
—A public hearing is being held about two newly proposed charter school applications submitted to the Department of Education (DOE) and the State University of New York (SUNY). These applicants hope to serve Community School District 21.

IS 303 Auditorium, 501 WEST AVENUE, BROOKLYN NY, 11224.
Details:
This public hearing is open to anyone interested in learning about the proposed charter school applications for Coney Island Preparatory Public Charter School and Brooklyn Dreams Charter School.
Written comments will be collected on the day of the hearing and can be submitted via email to: charterschools@schools.nyc.gov. Comments will be accepted until August 15, 2008.
