On October 16th,
2008
Presidents' Council hosted a Bylaw workshop for the Parents in District 21
|
Our objective was to insure all schools are
aware of the proposed revisions to Chancellor’s regulation A-660. We
encourage our parents to send their feedback the Office of Family Engagement
and Advocacy OFEA@schools.nyc.gov. The last date for filing a recommendation
is November 5, 2008.
We reviewed upcoming changes to the to the A-660 and the effect the changes
with have on Association bylaws. This year we incorporated a ‘What are
Records” into our presentation, reviewing the documenting and retention of
records required .
It is our objective is to assist all District 21 PA/PTAs in developing
bylaws that comply with Chancellors regulation A-660.
Thank you to the Parents' Association, Administration, of Mark Twain
for
their hospitality.
We had a great turn out and were able to highlight many
important issues concerning A-660, By-laws, Organization Structure,
Meetings, and Committees etc.
